Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve

Jim Corbett lives in the foothills of the Himalayas, one of India’s oldest tiger reserves and a perfect place for photographers. Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve has features that make it a photographer’s paradise.

This park hosts a variety of wildlife such as giant elephants, leopards, tigers, snakes and lizards that is sumptuous to wildlife photographers. Thus, making sure lots of different organisms can be captured. The park boasts breathtaking sceneries of thick forests, open grasslands, and a mixture of river Ramganga. This provides an attractive backdrop for any wildlife shots.

With over 600 species you’re spoilt for choice with bird photography having something for everyone. From colorful pheasants to vibrant kingfishers this park has it all.

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve

Photographers are thoroughly impressed by Ranthambore National Park due to its combination of tiger sightings, dramatic landscapes and unique vantage points. Ranthambore’s dry deciduous terrain, allows for clear views.

Tigers here are used to jeep safaris hence photographers can take photographs of them at eye level that produce impactful portraits. That translates to better pictures with a more dramatic impact from the perspective of being closer to the tigers and looking straight into their eyes.

This place also has hills, huge lakes and Ranthambore Fort which has historical background in it and is strongly praised because of their genuineness as well as magical environment.

Kanha Tiger Reserve

Kanha booms with a healthy population of Bengal tigers, leopards, Barasingha deer in the open meadows and Sal forests. The 300 plus birds also offer mesmerizing opportunities for photographers.

With vast terrain like this, capturing images during the golden hour becomes possible since there is usually warm light. The natural lighting which brings out the beauty of tigers, birds and landscape generally improves the photography done in this place.

There are specific areas in Kanha National Park just for photography tours. Carry out your research before booking, especially during the peak season. Take it seriously and prepare everything you will need.

For photographing animals far-off, telephoto lenses are indispensable. Think about a robust tripod to help with low light and a good zoom lens able to capture finer details.

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

Bandhavgarh boasts one of the highest tiger densities in India. This increases your chances of seeing a tiger during your trip since there are more photographic opportunities in the form of forests and meadows.

With more open areas, you have higher chances of encountering or photographing tigers hunting, stalking prey, or doing anything else in the wild; hence making your photographs look lively and appealing to viewers.

When photographing at Bandhavgarh, always maintain a safe distance from animals so that they are not disturbed when taking wildlife pictures and adhere to the rules set by the park management. In addition, an animal’s behavior may change if one uses a camera flash.

Kaziranga Tiger Reserve

Kaziranga National Park is a unique place for photographers due to numerous reasons.

Kaziranga has the world’s largest population of the one-horned rhinoceros, an unique and endangered species. It is a rare opportunity in photography of these prehistoric looking creatures as they graze on the tall grasslands.

Apart from the grasslands, Kaziranga has rich forests, wetlands (beels) and the mighty Brahmaputra River. Taking an elephant safari involves riding on an elephant’s back and taking time to approach wildlife at low speed thus offering different photographic perspectives.

To shoot Kaziranga wildlife photos; be patient and observant. Pay attention to animal behaviour and anticipate moves for that finest shot which demands great care in minutiae and hours of positioning.

Pench Tiger Reserve

There are some outstanding characteristics that make Pench Tiger Reserve a hotspot for photographers Pench is famous for its breathtaking landscapes comprising a combination of grasslands, forests and the meandering Pench River.

For photography enthusiasts, just dream of a grand tiger emerging from long grass at the edge of a meadow or a herd of chital deer with the back light of a setting sun. Unlike most parks which have daylight safaris only, Pench allows special night safari permits.

This provides an opportunity to capture images of prowling tigers, elusive jackals and owls with glowing eyes among other nocturnal creatures. As you consider yourself as one, it is better dressing comfortably in clothes having no color preferences for this kind environment. You should expect warm days and possibly cooler mornings.
