Tour Overview

Ranthambore National Park sits in Rajasthan, around 180 kilometres from Jaipur. This 4-day extension gives you three full days of safaris across one of India's most photogenic and historically rich tiger reserves.

Ranthambore is unlike any other Indian park. A 10th-century fort rises above the forest, and the tigers hunt around three lakes that sit directly below its walls. The combination of Mughal ruins, ancient banyan trees, and open lakeside terrain makes for exceptional photography at every session.

Tigers are the main draw, but Leopards, Sloth Bears, Hyenas, and Jackals move through the dry deciduous forest and rocky ridges. The birdlife is strong, particularly around the lakes. Ranthambore divides into ten zones, and covering different zones across three days gives you varied terrain and the best sighting conditions.

Day 1

Delhi to Ranthambore via Jaipur Airport or Sawai Madhopur, Evening Safari

You fly to Jaipur or take the train to Sawai Madhopur and transfer to Ranthambore. You check in on arrival and head out for an evening safari. The dry deciduous forest and open lakeside terrain are active at this hour. The fort walls catch the last light above the treeline as Tigers begin to move around the lakes below.

Day 2

Morning and Evening Safaris at Ranthambore

A full day of safaris inside Ranthambore. The morning drive covers the core lake zones where Tigers are most regularly sighted against the backdrop of the fort and ancient ruins. Leopards, Sloth Bears, and Hyenas move through the rocky ridges and forest edges across different parts of the park. The evening safari picks up fresh tiger movement around the lakes as the light softens over the Aravalli hills.

Day 3

Morning and Evening Safaris in a Different Zone

A third day of safaris covering new zones inside Ranthambore. The park divides into ten zones, each with different terrain and wildlife concentrations. Rocky ridges, dry riverbeds, and dense forest patches give each zone a distinct character. Ancient banyan trees and Mughal ruins frame the drives throughout. Birdlife around the lakes is strong and productive between the larger sightings.

Day 4

Morning Safari, Transfer Back to Delhi

One final morning safari before checkout. Tigers are often found near the lakes at this hour and the early light on the fort ruins is exceptional for photography. You transfer back to Delhi via Jaipur or Sawai Madhopur after the safari.
