Asiatic Elephant Herd in Jim Corbett

Tour Overview

Jim Corbett National Park sits in Uttarakhand, around 260 kilometres from Delhi via Ramnagar. This 4-day extension gives you three full days of safaris across one of India's most celebrated and ecologically rich tiger reserves.

Corbett was established in 1936 as India's first national park. Its terrain is varied, with dense sal forest, open grassland chaurs, and the Ramganga reservoir running through the core zone. This variety draws high wildlife density and makes each zone feel distinct.

Tigers, Elephants, Leopards, Sloth Bears, and Gharial move through Corbett's different habitats. The birdlife is exceptional, with over 600 species recorded across the park. Different zones open at different times of year, and covering multiple zones across three days gives you the strongest possible sightings across varied terrain.

Day 1

Drive Delhi to Ramnagar, Transfer to Corbett, Evening Safari

You drive from Delhi to Ramnagar, around 260 kilometres through Uttarakhand. From Ramnagar you transfer into the park and check in at your lodge. You head out for an evening safari as the sal forest cools and wildlife begins to move. The grassland chaurs and forest edges are active at this hour and Tiger and Elephant sightings are strong in the late afternoon light.

Day 2

Morning and Evening Safaris at Corbett

A full day of safaris inside Corbett. The morning drive covers the core zone, moving through sal forest and open chaurs where Tigers and Elephants are most regularly sighted. Leopards, Deer, and a strong bird population fill the forest edges between the larger sightings. The evening safari picks up fresh movement along the Ramganga reservoir banks as the light drops over the hills.

Day 3

Morning and Evening Safaris in a Different Zone

A third day of safaris covering a new zone inside Corbett. Each zone carries different terrain and wildlife concentrations. The Ramganga reservoir edges hold Gharial and a strong waterbird population. Over 600 bird species move through the park and the forest is productive for birding between Tiger and Elephant sightings. Dawn light in the sal forest is particularly strong for photography.

Day 4

Morning Safari, Drive Back to Delhi

One final morning safari before checkout. The chaurs are at their most active at this hour and wildlife movement through the sal forest is strong. You drive back to Delhi after the safari via Ramnagar.
