Bera Leopard
Extension Tour
Bera leopard extension in Rajasthan's Jawai region. Track and photograph Leopards on granite boulders, watch wetland birds at Jawai Dam, and walk with a naturalist guide.

Tour Overview
Bera sits in the Jawai region of Rajasthan, around 160 kilometres from Udaipur. This 3-day extension focuses on Leopard tracking across the granite boulder landscape of the Aravalli hills, with wetland birding at Jawai Dam and a guided morning walk through leopard country.
Bera holds one of the highest leopard densities in India. These cats live in full view of the local Rabari community and carry an unusual tolerance for human presence. That tolerance makes for exceptional photographic conditions, particularly on the open granite boulders at first and last light.
Jawai Dam draws Flamingos, Pelicans, and Painted Storks alongside a strong winter mix of migratory waterbirds. The combination of big cat sightings and wetland birding makes Bera one of Rajasthan's most rewarding short extensions.

Fly Delhi to Udaipur, Drive to Bera, Evening Leopard Safari
You fly from Delhi to Udaipur, the nearest airport at around 160 kilometres from Bera. You drive through the Aravalli landscape, rocky hills, dry scrub, and small villages, as the terrain opens into the granite boulder country of the Jawai region. After check-in you head out for your first evening Leopard drive. The cats begin to move off the rocks as the light softens. Bera holds one of the highest Leopard densities in India, and these cats live alongside the local Rabari community with a tolerance for human presence that makes for exceptional photographic opportunities.
Day 2
Full Day Bera, Morning and Evening Leopard Safaris and Jawai Dam Birding
You rise before dawn for the morning Leopard drive. The cats are often found on the granite boulders at first light, surveying the landscape before the heat sets in. The afternoon moves to Jawai Dam, where Flamingos, Pelicans, and Painted Storks feed along the water. Migratory waterbirds arrive in good numbers through the winter months. The evening drive takes you back into the boulder country as the sun drops behind the Aravalli hills. The golden light on the granite at this hour is exceptional for photography.
Day 3
Morning Leopard Walk, Drive to Udaipur, Fly Back to Delhi
A final morning session on foot through the boulder country with a naturalist guide. You read Leopard tracks, scrapes, and signs at close quarters and watch the landscape wake up around you.
