A four day safari in Gir National Park takes you to one of India's most unique wildlife destinations. Located in the Junagadh district of Gujarat, Gir is the world's only home to the wild Asiatic lion, a species that has grown from fewer than 20 individuals a century ago to over 600 today. The park's dry deciduous forests, open grasslands, and seasonal rivers make for a landscape unlike any other in India.

Beyond lions, Gir is home to leopards, marsh crocodiles, spotted deer, sambar, and over 300 bird species. The Gir Interpretation Zone at Devalia and the nearby Sasan village add more layers to the visit. This four day trip brings together rare wildlife sightings, Gujarat's western landscape, and a glimpse into local Maldhari culture, making it a memorable experience for any nature lover.

Day 1

Day 1: Arrive in Gujarat | Transfer to Gir | Evening Safari

Fly into Rajkot Airport, where our team will meet you on arrival. From Rajkot it is roughly a 3.5 hour drive through Gujarat's countryside to Sasan Gir. Check in to your lodge, get settled, and head out for your first evening safari inside the park. Late afternoons in Gir are productive - lions are often on the move as the temperature drops and the light turns soft. A good start to what lies ahead.

Day 2

Day 2: Full Day at Gir | Morning and Evening Safaris

An early start for your morning safari, which is the best window for sightings in Gir. Lions, leopards, spotted deer, sambar, and marsh crocodiles are all regularly encountered, and the birdlife alone makes the drive worthwhile. Back to the lodge for breakfast and rest through the afternoon. Head out again in the evening into a different section of the park, covering fresh ground and new waterholes.

Day 3

Day 3: New Zone | Morning and Evening Safaris

Today your naturalist takes you into a different zone of Gir. The park covers over 1,400 sq km and each zone has its own terrain and wildlife patterns, so a change of area almost always throws up different sightings. In the afternoon, visit the Devalia Interpretation Zone, a fenced section of the forest that gives you a close look at the full prey base alongside lions and leopards. Evening safari to close the day.

Day 4

Day 4: Morning Safari | Drive to Rajkot | Fly Back to Delhi

One last morning safari before breakfast and checkout. Your driver will transfer you back to Rajkot Airport for your return flight to Delhi.
