Some History about Dudhwa Tiger Reserve

Dudhwa National Park has this amazing tale that dates back to ancient times. Picture it, a massive wetland in Uttar Pradesh, where tigers and elephants freely roamed. Way back in the 16th century, even the mighty Mughal emperor Akbar couldn’t resist setting up a hunting lodge here.

Fast forward to 1879, the British era, and Dudhwa transforms into the Dudhwa Game Sanctuary, a protected haven. Starting small, it gradually expanded, turning into a hotspot for hunting and sightseeing by the early 20th century.
